Message 1 mahler festival

From 8 to 18 May next, all of Mahler's symphonies will be performed at the third Mahler Festival in Amsterdam. Previous Mahler Festivals took place in 1920 and 1995. The concerts are sold out, but as part of Amsterdam 750, the 11 evening concerts in the Great Hall will also be accessible free of charge during the 'Mahler Nights' on Museumplein.

The Mahler Pavilion will rise there, offering space for 2,000 visitors with three stands and a covered plaza. A 10-metre-high screen and a high-quality audio system will ensure the best possible experience. In addition to the concerts, highlights of the festival and documentaries specially made for the festival from the series Mahler's Universe screened. Simon Reinink, general director of the Concertgebouw: 'This festival brings the top of the international music world to The Concertgebouw, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. With the Mahler Pavilion, we make these unique concerts accessible to everyone.'
