Mahler's music is often associated with Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, but his music first sounded Arnhem. In October 1903, conductor Martin Heuckeroth conducted Mahler's Third Symphony at Musis Sacrum. Orchestra and choir consisted of as many as 670 members. In this episode of our Magazine much attention is paid to this special performance.
